is a behavior management day program for individuals with developmental disabilities.It is the goal of this program to conduct the majority of training in a fully integrated, natural setting.Consumers are offered vocational training experience which leads to money management training. This will help develop stronger self worth and self confidence within the consumer. We strive to facilitate opportunities that are age appropriate, useful, dignified, and interesting to the clients involved.
Consumers will have access to a variety of community and leisure resources. These may include excursions to the Kern County Fair, local parks, Murry Farms, shopping, and other points of interest.Consumers at Mercie’s Day Program also have an opportunity to go boating and swimming at Lake Buena Vista, and barbecuing and picnic games at Hart Park for therapeutic as well as recreational purposes.
Community safety, destination training, pedestrian skills, arts & crafts, and communication skills training will be included in the program.The centrally located facilities include a modern style kitchen, conference room, an old fashioned soda parlor, and a recreation hall where regular dances and holiday celebrations are held.
